No training wheels Ma!

Brent helping Bridget gear up.

...and we're off

...and a little bit wobbly.

...not hurt just a little discouraged.

SWEET SUCCESS!

The End.

Texas Trip.

The thing about going to Texas is that I get so wrapped up in visiting that I always forget to take pictures. I'm so mad because I didn't get any pictures of my sister Aly who is pregnant and due in August. I also didn't get any pictures of Sarah, Karl, Michael, Mickey, Carissa or Caroline....grrr. But the first morning I was there I did get to go to my sisters Dr's apt and see the baby in a sonogram. My fiction workshop class started online the first full day we were there and I had to spend a lot of time alone in the Hastings coffee shop trying to get some of that done so I didn't get very many pictures of the awesome things my dad did with Bridget. She got completely spoiled. He bought her almost every American Girl item in the book store, we went to see the movie "Up" it was so cute and of course we hit our favorite eating hotspots. It was a really good trip and I was bummed that I didn't get as many photos as I wanted.
In the front of my dad's house is where he plants his beautiful elephant ears. By the end of the summer the leaves themselves are almost as tall as I am. Bridget loves it because it looks like a jungle in there. On the first morning Bridget found an old friend.

It was a little turtle that we've been keeping tabs on for a while. We originally painted some nail polish on his back but it came off so my dad spray painted him so that we would know it was him.

Bridget was very excited to see him again...

But then she found some rolly pollies and started playing with them instead.

We went to the water park with Sarah and Michael on Tuesday and then we ran into Robbie (Amy's Mom), Amy and her two kids Aubry and Carter. Aubry was so sweet she would follow Bridget anywhere.

Bridget ran all over the place with her Papa. They were partners in crime for the entire week.

They had a blast together.

Throughout the whole trip I had to nurse Scout and his poor injuries. He managed rip his original cone in half and ate his bandage three times. I was getting pretty ticked off by the end of the trip. Plus I was nervous because I was running out of sedatives for him.

Here he is walking around with his cone of shame.

By the end of the trip he was getting pretty ticked off too.

But he felt better after he got to sit next to his cute sister for the 12 hour ride home. I can't say the feeling was mutual.

Amy's Trip to Colorado.

Amy used to be my partner in crime. We spent every waking moment together for probably five years. But now we're grown ups with families and responsibilities and it had been a while since I got a good dose of Amy. So, I was very excited when she decided to come visit. We hit the ground running as soon as she flew in. Straight from the airport we headed for Denver to go eat lunch with her aunt. On the way home I decided to show her Red Rocks since it's only ten minutes away from where we live...
The Rocks...They're red.
The amphitheater.

We're not quite sure what Bridget was trying to accomplish here. But it looks weird.

After our visit to Red Rocks we dropped Amy's stuff off and headed straight for Downtown Littleton...

We were laughing at Bridget in this picture because she looked like a drunken sailor who only had one eye while taking this picture.

Here we are laughing at Bridget again while she tried to take our picture.

We kept stopping to smell the flowers. We looked pretty strange but we didn't care. They were so beautiful...

The next day we were supposed to wake up early to go white water rafting but Scout had other plans. While I was letting him out to go to the bathroom he cut his foot on the lawn edging and we had to rush him to the vet's office instead. So while we waited for him to get out of surgery we hung out by the pool and read books. It was actually pretty relaxing, well...until we got the vet bill.

So we took a day off and started over again. On Friday we drove the twenty minutes to Idaho Springs to go white water rafting. Amy was so scared she was going to die. It was actually pretty hilarious.

Don't we look good???

After we spent the morning rafting we decided to drive the rest of the way to Breckenridge to do the tourist thing.
Saturday was Amy's last full day with us so I decided to take her to Devil's Head to hike, even though Amy's legs were sore from hanging on to dear life the day before....

She loved it.

The next day we all got in the car, (including Scout) for a road trip to Texas...

Rainy Day...

But Bridget didn't let that stop her.

First Trip to the Farmer's Market.

Every Saturday that we are in town during the summer Bridget and I go to the farmer's market. Bridget loves to pick out which kinds of fruits and veggies we get and sometimes we'll buy lunch. But one thing is for sure. We never forget to stop to smell the flowers.
This is her "Aren't I cute?" face.

Bridget was so excited to see the frog lady was there. Last summer she would beg for a frog and after working for three weeks she had finally saved enough money to buy one, only to find that the frog lady was gone. So I bought her one. They are hollowed out and when you run the wooden stick along it's back it croaks just like a frog. ( It drives Scout nuts.)

And of course every girl has to buy herself some flowers every now and then. Love 'em!

Bridget's First Official Day of Summer.

Yay! The first day of summer!
Doesn't she make a cute little pirate?

We go down this slide about a million times a visit, and we get wedgies every single time.
WE LOVE SUMMER!

Bridget's Last Day of 1st Grade!

Bridget and Samantha the dramtic duo.

Mrs. Casassa's last year at Powderhorn.

The boy with the curly hair is Nathan W. but the name Nathan W. is so last year. In first grade he decided that he wanted to be called Nate. Bridget's had a crush on him since kindergarten. She once told him that she loved him and he shrugged and kept playing basketball. Bridget wasn't upset she just said that he would probably like her in the fourth grade and went completely unphased. (At least she knows how to take rejection.)

This is Jordan one of her best friends. She spent the rest of the day playing at his house. His mom told me that they played Rock Band and they were singing "Livin on a Prayer" by Bon jovi . But Bridget thought they were singing Livin' on the Prairie. She's been all about the Little House on the Prairie books lately.

They ended the day with an ice cream social.

Class Photo: Bridget decided to go for her super model pose. See if you can find her ;)

End of School Carnival

Every year the PTA at Bridget's school puts on a carnival to celebrate the ending of the school year. Bridget loves it and has been looking for it since last year.

Bridget and her friend Nevaeh are laughing at the Principal and the Vice Principle.

They loved the fact that they got so messy.

The face painting lady was amazing! We almost spent half of our time in line so that she could get her face painted.

We had to go out to eat afterwards so that Bridget could show off her kitty cat face.
