Brent's Big 3-0!

That's right, April Fool's Day is Brent's birthday!

I love this day for many reasons.

1.) This is the day my jokster of a husband came into this world.

2.) This means mustache madness is over and I don't have to look at my husband's creepy mustache anymore.

This year was a milestone for good ol' Brent. He turned 30! He spent the majority of the day driving through the mountains trying to get home from his camping trip. I knew he would be tired and dirty when he got back so I decided to leave him a little note in the bathroom.

Who needs Hallmark when you have a big mirror and lots of dry erase markers?

While they were driving back I made him a chocolate cake. His mom usually makes him a german chocolate cake from scratch but I didn't have enough time so he got a cake from a box. I tried to make it look pretty but it kind of crumbled when I put the icing on it. So, basically it was a tasty blob of chocolaty goodness. Brent wasn't really impressed with the trick candles but Bridget thought they were hilarious!

Home Alone

This year Bridget's spring break was a week after mine and so she and her daddy decided to go on a camping trip together. She had an absolute blast! Me on the other hand didn't quite know what to do with myself for those 4 days.

What they were doing:

What I was doing:

Cuddling up with my dog trying to get ahead on my reading.

Oh yeah, here I am reading some more, while trying to get a little sun.

It was kind of nice to be able to focus on me for a change. I went to brunch with a long lost friend. I did lots of shopping, drank lots of starbucks and watched lots of movies. Over all I had fun, but I was glad when they came home. I missed my family.
