The Spring Break Snow Storm

For those of you who have ever lived in Colorado you will understand "The Spring Break Snow Storm". It's an anomaly that occurs almost every year. You think winter has passed and you're wearing flip-flops and shorts one day only to wake up the next morning to a blizzard. Bridget always worries about the birds she hears chirping in the trees that get clobbered by all of the snow. Don't worry, though, they start chirping again once the sun comes out.
Snow storms have a way of making you slow down. I was forced to be lazy for two days straight. We lied around watching movies and taking naps and my system must have gotten used to this new pace because I didn't want to go outside to play when Bridget first asked me. But seeing that it was a beautiful day I reluctantly agreed and I'm glad I did. We had a blast! We ended up playing for about three hours and when the kid's in the neighborhood looked out their windows they all came out of the woodwork to join us in the fun.
We started off with a snow cone shop. We made it out of a pile of snow the snow plow had made.

Soon after, we realized that the snow was perfect for making snowmen so we tried to do that. I accidentally made the second ball too big and couldn't lift it so we made an elephant instead.

Her name was Snow White. The kids loved her because you could actually sit on her back.

Then we slid down the hill about a million times. Some other kids had actually brought out some rails and ramps earlier in the day to snowboard on and we ended up sledding over those too. It made us jump too high and we ended up with sore tail bones. By the end of the day we were worn out, but I'm so glad we decided to play outside because we had an absolute blast!

The Denver St. Patty's Day Parade.

Riding on the train at 7:30 a.m.

"YEAHHH...yeah."

Waiting for the parade with our friends.

What a cute little leprechaun!

Bridget sitting with her friend Riley. His dad is on the same shift at the firestation as Brent.

Bridget and Aime taking a rest while we waited for the train to come at 5:00 p.m.
It was a LONG day, but so much fun!

Naughty Dog!

Bridget decided that she wanted to grow some flowers. So, we got her a tiny flower pot and some seeds and planted them one weekend. Bridget was very diligent about watering her plant and kept it on the window sill of her bedroom so that it would get plenty of sunshine. Unfortunately, Scout was curious about the flower pot and accidentally knocked it over. Bridget was FURIOUS with him. She was so mad in fact, that I made her do a yoga DVD to calm her down. The funny thing was that it actually worked. She forgot what she was mad about withing 5 minutes of her workout and Scout was off the hook.
The tragedy.

The culprit. (In disguise)

The solution.

Girl Scout Cookie Success.

Bridget's Girl Scout Troop sold 3,896 boxes!
The good news is that they get to go to Build a Bear Workshop as a troop.
The bad news was that we had to actually deliver the cookies.
Bridget took this picture of me while we were delivering cookies.
(I have no makup on and I'm wearing my glasses, but we've got to report how we see it, right?)
Bridget's self-shot picture.

All of the cookies.
