Getting Ready For The First Day of School.

Tonight is the night Bridget has been waiting all summer for. The night before the first day of school. This is a special night because the class lists were posted at 4:00 and they were having an ice cream social. The kids finally got to see who their teachers were going to be and which of their friends were going to end up in their class.
Bridget found out that the boy she had a crush on all through out kindergarten was in her class. None of her friends from scouts were in her class though so she was bummed out. Bridget's silver lining was that the girl Nathan W. "was in love with" wasn't in their class either. So she was happy about that. Are we in trouble or what? That girl is so boy crazy.

We found out that Bridget's teacher's name is Mrs. Casassa, kind of like "pizazza".

Unfortunately one of the kids got too excited and pulled the fire alarm and everyone had to evacuate the school. We thought it was kind of funny.

When we got home Bridget picked out what she was going to wear, counted out her lunch money and made some blueberry muffins so she could have them for breakfast. I'm starting my new job tomorrow morning as well at Bridget's school so I agreed to making breakfast the night before. I thought it might help me out a little.

Oh, and of course we had to paint her fingernails too. What a diva!

We read a chapter out of her "Ballet Diary" book and she went to bed right at 8:00. I'm guessing she's probably lying awake in bed, too excited to go to sleep.

Saying goodbye to summer.

Where did the time go?
This summer went by so fast that Bridget hardly had a chance to have friends over for play dates. So on Friday we asked some of the girls from her girl scout troop to come over and hang out. Unfortunately, it was thundering and lightning so they only got to swim for about 15 minutes. But they had fun while it lasted.
Luckily I had a back up plan in case the weather was lousy. So they made flip flop cookies. She girls had a blast mixing the food coloring for the icing, but I think they favorite part was licking the icing off of everything.

See? They turned out cute.

National Lampoon Summer Vacation Part 2... Missouri/Illinois

The second part of our trip began at Brent's parents lake house.
It was really creepy because when we showed up Brent and his dad were wearing the same thing. Not only did their shirts match in color but they both had something to do with their jobs.

Laying out by the lake reading a book.

Drinking coffee in the morning.

Grandma chasing after a turtle.

She got it! Bridget named her Rosie.

A big bug.

The stud.

Singing in the sprinkler at Grandma's house.

She lost another tooth on this trip, now she is toothless.

On the last night we saw a million fire flies. Bridget had so much fun catching them. They wouldn't glow in the jar so we finally decided to let them go.

National Lampoon Summer Vacation Part 1...Texas

4:00 a.m.
Get ready Texas here we come!

We finally got to meet little miss Caroline, she's such a good baby. Brent was in love.

Bridget and my dad snuck off to Nick's farm so I didn't get any pictures of that but later on in the week we went out to Shelly's to go ride some horses. Bridget
had been looking forward to this for weeks

I am so bummed because I kept forgetting my camara. We did so much in the time that we were there but you would never know it by looking at this blog. Mainly we spent the week hitting all of my favorite restaurants, and of course eating my dad's brisket. We went to the water park where we all thought we were going to die on a ride called the cliff hanger. Seriously... Brent was planning a way to keep Bridget from falling over the edge. Sarah was also shot off of the end of a slide, we still don't know how that happened. When she went to get band-aids the first aid guy asked her how old she was :) It was really funny. We finally got to see Sarah's new house, and had a cookout. It was fun but too short. I was so sad when it was time to leave. We were sorry we missed Skip and Donna they were coming to town the day we left. But we had to head north for the second leg of our trip....
