Day 95

Alice
Over the course of a week I have managed to read all of these books and now I am so emersed in the world of Alice McKinley that I can't seperate her world from mine. When I was 13 I read "Alice in Rapture, Sort of" and it was the first book, ever, that I managed to read in one day. I was in 7th grade and I picked it up off of the shelf in our school library. I only picked it because it was on the reading list at school and we had to read a certain number of books for the semester. I ended up loving it and it actually caught my attention long enough to clue me into the fact that I love to read. At that time there were only a few Alice books in the series but over the span of 14 years Phyllis Reynolds Naylor has been adding to Alice's story. I had no idea that there were so many more books in the series until this summer, when I decided to study my favorite books looking for patterns in style. I decided to start with the series that started it all for me. Well, I've been reading for about 3 weeks and I have managed to read 19 of the books that were in the Alice series. I'm obsessed all over again, just like I was when I was 13... except now I'm 27.

Day 94

Breakfast for dinner.
Check out the new chef outfit Bridget got from Uncle Brycie and Aunt Carrie! She was so excited that she decided that she needed to be a dancing chef. So paired with the apron and hat is a leotard. Nice, huh?

Day 93

Midnight Visitor
On this particular morning Bridget and I went outside to go shopping and found our trash was ripped open and spread out all over the place. As Bridget said "Our trash was exploded!" There were catelope rinds and popcorn spread out everywhere. We figured it was an animal. Bridget had decided that it was a raccoon because she had just seen "Over the Hedge". As I was cleaning up the mess Bridget was yelling out loud. "Sorry Raccoons! We have to take your food away! You shouldn't have been so messy!" When we got to the car Bridget found the evidence we needed to confirm that it was indeed a raccoon.

Day 92

Urban Adventure
Today we decided to take a little trip to downtown Denver so that I could take care of a few things on campus. We actually had a good time even though the weather was slightly rainy and cold. In order to make us feel more urban we decided to ride the light rail down. This is Bridget's favorite way to go. It's like she's charged with electricity as soon as we step foot onto the train because she talks real loud and bounces all over the seats.

I love this campus because it's set up like a big park right smack in the middle of the city.

While we were waiting for my appointment with my counselor we made a little friend. Bridget was sitting on the bench eating some peanuts when this little fella decided to check out what she was eating. He wasn't scared at all! He just walked right up to the bench, stood up and placed his hands on the bench like a dog begging for food. Bridget handed him a peanut and he took it right out of her hand. She decided to name him "Curious Sauce"-I'm not sure where the sauce part came from but it was definately original.

This is my favorite part out of the whole campus. Right in the middle of all of these tall buildings is a neighborhood of really old houses that have been restored. Now they serve as office buildings and this is where the English Department is located. All of the houses have beautiful porches and flowers planted all along the sides.

The main building for CU is actually located across the street and into Downtown Denver. There are a lot of cafes that are lined a long the sidewalk. There are also a lot of theatre's in this portion of town. We're planning on taking Bridget to a few this summer. She loves anything dramatic.

Bridget and I then stopped at the Tivoli Student Union to grab a bite to eat before heading home. This building was originally a brewery I think. Anything that you would possibly want to find as a student you will find in this building. They even have a travel agency.
Over all we had a good time. Bridget is exhausted after all of that walking and is sitting on the floor watching "Over the Hedge" as I type. I'm pretty sure she probably walked about three miles today in her little high heel shoes that she insisted on wearing.

Day 91

Don't mind me, it's just a huge armpit.
I was just browsing the internet to kill some time and came across this picture. That obcene thing in the circled picture is her armpit, it took me a little while to figure it out. This was a gossip article that ripped into anyone who showed up for this certain award. It was so mean! I never would have noticed her armpit if they hadn't enlarged it to half the size of her body. I don't know it just seems like Jr. High reincarnated. I'd like to see a picture of whoever wrote the article and enlarge various parts of their bodies and see how they like it.

Day 90

Hanging out at the pool....again
Yesterday we had a bunch of friends come over and hang out by the pool with us before our kickball game. We had a lot of fun eating hotdogs and hanging out by the pool. Bridget's friend Addy came over so that she had some company and they occupied themselves by chasing squirells and building "Ant houses" with rocks while we played our kickball game. We lost 10-1. I don't think we're very good.

Day 89

She likes it!
Today I made Bridget close her eyes while I soaked a small piece of broccoli in Ranch dressing and popped it in her mouth without telling her what it was. She loved it! And she was very surprised to find that she actually liked broccoli. It's a day of expanding our horizons. Now Brent won't be able to threaten her with it anymore.
Lastnight we had a family movie night and ate homemade popcorn while we watched Lilo and Stitch- Brent and Bridget's favorite. I took some pictures but they turned out fuzzy because Bridget refused to stop eating the popcorn.
